FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. How do I book a tour with Vino Tinto Tours?
Just use the contact button above to call or email us and provide your email address or a phone number where you can be texted or emailed. Once the details of the tour are ironed out, we will send you a Pay-Pal invoice for payment.
2. What is your cancellation policy?
For groups of six or smaller, if you cancel your tour 7 days or more prior to the tour date, we will refund the deposit minus Pay-Pal fees. During the last week prior to your tour, we will refund up to 50% of the deposit minus Pay-Pal fees. Any amount retained by Vino Tinto Tours will become non-refundable, but may be applied towards a future tour for up to 12 months after the original tour date requested. Exceptions apply for groups larger than 6 people. For groups larger than 6 people but less than 14 people (or if you are being billed as part of a group this size), immediately upon receipt of payment, a vehicle fee of up to $300 (and if you are being billed separately as part of a group, your percentage of that amount) will be charged by Vino Tinto Tours and will become immediately non-refundable and non-applicable to future tours. For any amounts remaining, the cancellation policy for 6 people or less will apply. For groups of 15 or more (or if you are being billed as part of a group this size), immediately upon receipt of payment, a vehicle fee of up to 33% of the total invoice amount will be charged by Vino Tinto Tours and will become immediately non-refundable and non-applicable to future tours. For any amounts remaining, the cancellation policy for 6 people or less will apply.
3. What is the pickup location?
We will pick you up at your location between Rosarito, Ensenada, the Valle de Guadalupe or anywhere in between.
4. Do you pickup at the San Ysidro border?
Yes. There is an additional cost involved to compensate the driver for his/her time and the cost of fuel. The pickup fee starts at $90 and goes up from there based on the number of passengers and the size of the vehicle necessary to transport the entire party to the Wine Country. Most times it is more cost effective to Uber to the Rosarito Beach hotel. If you text us 30 minutes before you reach the border, our driver will be waiting for you there.
5. What time does the wine tour start?
We are flexible, but usually we leave by 10:30 AM for pickups in Rosarito or Ensenada and 11:00 AM for pickups in the Guadalupe Valley. You should start at least an hour earlier if you are being picked up at the border.
6. What time does the wine tour end?
Again, we are flexible, but like to have our drivers on their way home not later than 6:00 PM. That usually means we try to arrive at our last winery by 4:30 PM.
7. Are tasting fees covered?
Yes, tasting fees for the 2 or 3 tours are included in the cost of the tour. As time permits additional vineyards may be included in the tour, but the tasting fees for these will be paid by you.
8. Is lunch included?
While we are happy to help in coordinating reservations for lunch (and trust us, reservations are important especially on weekends at most of the choice restaurants that we would recommend), cost of the lunch/dinner is not included in our fee.
9. Can we have lunch included as a special request?
Yes, we do make exceptions. We understand some of our customers do not want to deal with exchange rates, or the threat of identity or credit theft (these are issues not unique to the Guadalupe Valley or Mexico), so we do offer this service. However, there are so many variables, the price seems to some to be offensive. We make no false claims about this. Our fee is high for this service because it makes more sense for you to pay for your own meals, since you know your tastes. We don't know your tastes and have to charge accordingly based on unknown variables.
